Ray Stevenson

About Ray Stevenson
Ray Stevenson plays Titus Pullo in Rome. Pullo is impulsive, physically formidable and frequently funny; Stevenson makes those qualities belong to one person rather than alternating between comic relief and a fighting role.
His later television work includes Isaak Sirko in Dexter, Blackbeard in Black Sails, Othere in Vikings and Jack Swinburne in Das Boot. He also played Baylan Skoll in Ahsoka. On film he was Frank Castle in Punisher: War Zone and Volstagg in the Thor films.
Stevenson died in 2023. Pullo remains one of his most generous performances: rough, affectionate, dangerous and capable of making an ordinary meal or argument as engaging as a larger set piece. His scenes with Kevin McKidd are a large part of Rome's lasting appeal.
