About The Att

TV reviews and rankings first, with personal movie and book lists

An independent point of view

TheAttReviews is primarily an independent TV show review site, built on one simple idea: you deserve honest opinions before you invest dozens of hours into a series. We cut through the noise of sponsored reviews, algorithm-driven recommendations, and social media hype to tell you whether a show is actually worth your time.

I am The Att. Every review on TheAttReviews expresses my own opinions, based on shows I have watched. The recommendations, criticisms and comparisons are mine. Each review explains its coverage where that matters: a particular season, a completed run or an original series rather than its spin-offs. My viewing can move ahead of an older review; the public watchlist records my current progress, and the article date records its latest revision.

Beyond Television

Television remains the main focus, but the site also includes public versions of The Att’s personal movie list and book list. These sections record ratings, progress, and concise personal notes rather than pretending every entry is a full editorial review.

Signed-in readers can keep TV shows, movies, and books together in one private watchlist while the public lists remain available as a transparent record of what The Att has watched, read, rated, or plans to try next.

Finding something worth watching

Time is the real cost of starting a long series. I want these reviews to help you choose: what makes a show worth sticking with, where it disappoints and which viewers are likely to enjoy it. A recommendation is more useful when you can see the taste and reasoning behind it.

We make the reasoning behind every ranking easy to inspect. The rating methodology explains how head-to-head comparisons produce the ELO leaderboard, while the reviews provide the detailed editorial case for each recommendation.

What the rankings mean

The library includes shows I have watched, shows I am still watching and things I might watch later. The ELO-based ranking system is a separate, curated selection, based on what I have actually watched. An ongoing series can be ranked before its run has finished. Show pages record my viewing progress alongside the series’ current status.

We have no advertising relationships with studios, streaming platforms, or networks. No show gets a higher ranking because someone paid for it. The rankings are driven entirely by our ELO rating methodology — head-to-head comparisons that produce an honest pecking order.

The person behind the site

The Att

Founder & Lead Reviewer

A software developer by trade and a lifelong television enthusiast, The Att has been watching and analysing TV shows for over two decades. From the golden age of HBO dramas through the streaming explosion, he has watched his way through crime sagas, sci-fi epics, political thrillers, comedies, and everything in between. TheAttReviews was founded to put all of that viewing into one place with an honest, data-driven ranking system that cuts through the noise.

He also designed and built TheAttReviews, bringing his reviews, rankings and personal viewing history together in one place. Readers can follow the links between reviews, shows and talent, or keep a watchlist of their own.

Corrections

If you spot a factual error, a broken link or an unintended spoiler, please let me know with the page address and the detail that needs checking. Opinions can change on a rewatch; factual mistakes deserve a correction.
