About Jon Hamm

Jon Hamm is best known as Don Draper in Mad Men. Don can make a roomful of clients feel that he understands their desires better than they do. Hamm gives him the stillness and assurance to sell that impression, while allowing the strain behind it to show in much smaller moments. His performance won the Emmy for lead actor in a drama series in 2015.

The comedy is worth seeking out as well. As Dr Drew Baird in 30 Rock, Hamm cheerfully dismantles the idea that good looks imply competence. Appearances in Parks and Recreation and Curb Your Enthusiasm show the same willingness to make himself ridiculous.

His dramatic television work includes Matt Trent in the White Christmas special of Black Mirror, Sheriff Roy Tillman in the fifth season of Fargo, Monty Miller in Landman and Andrew Cooper in Your Friends and Neighbours. On film, The Town, Baby Driver, Top Gun: Maverick and Confess, Fletch offer very different uses for that familiar face.

Don remains a particularly good fit because Hamm can make polish look effortless without making the person underneath it easy to read.
