About Walton Goggins
Walton Goggins plays Shane Vendrell in The Shield. Shane's loyalty, pride and insecurity do not sit comfortably together, and Goggins makes the resulting tension difficult to ignore. A scene can become unstable before he has done anything overtly alarming.
His other major television roles include Boyd Crowder in Justified, Lee Russell in Vice Principals, Baby Billy Freeman in The Righteous Gemstones, and the Ghoul in Fallout. He also appears as Venus Van Dam in Sons of Anarchy and Rick in the third season of The White Lotus.
Those roles range widely in tone. What connects them is his willingness to let a character be awkward, excessive or exposed without smoothing the edges. Shane remains one of his strongest performances.
