Michael Stuhlbarg

About Michael Stuhlbarg
Michael Stuhlbarg plays Jimmy Baxter in Your Honor. He gives the crime boss a controlled manner that makes an apparently ordinary conversation difficult to relax into. The performance has weight without requiring a raised voice.
Television has offered him several very different forms of authority: Arnold Rothstein in Boardwalk Empire, Sy Feltz in the third season of Fargo, Richard Sackler in Dopesick and lawyer David Rudolf in The Staircase.
His leading role in the Coen brothers' A Serious Man is a useful contrast, placing him at the centre of a life becoming increasingly hard to understand. His films also include Steve Jobs, Call Me by Your Name and The Shape of Water. Stuhlbarg is unusually good at making thought visible in a still face, whether the character is calculating an advantage or struggling to find one.
