Bob Odenkirk

Bob Odenkirk plays Saul Goodman in Breaking Bad, a lawyer whose speed of delivery suggests he has already found a business opportunity in your problem. His timing makes Saul immediately funny without reducing him to a collection of loud suits and advertisements.

Odenkirk built his career in comedy, writing for Saturday Night Live and co-creating Mr. Show with David Cross. Better Call Saul gives him a much larger dramatic role as Jimmy McGill, with space for the pauses and disappointments that the sales pitch is meant to cover.

His other screen work includes police officer Bill Oswalt in Fargo and the lead in Nobody. The movement between comedy and drama is less abrupt than it might look on a list of credits: Odenkirk understands how much effort people put into being taken seriously, and how revealing it is when that effort doesn't work.
