About Martin Starr

Martin Starr plays Bodhi in Tulsa King, where his dry responses make an effective counterweight to Dwight Manfredi's certainty. He does not have to compete with Stallone's presence to make an exchange funny.

Starr first became widely known as Bill Haverchuck in Freaks and Geeks. He later played Roman DeBeers in Party Down and Bertram Gilfoyle in Silicon Valley. His film work includes the role of teacher Roger Harrington in the Spider-Man films led by Tom Holland.

Those characters have different kinds of awkwardness, but Starr is consistently good at allowing a reaction to arrive without rushing it. In Tulsa King, that timing gives Bodhi an identity beyond his place in somebody else's criminal plans.
