Marco D'Amore

About Marco D'Amore
Marco D'Amore plays Ciro Di Marzio in Gomorrah. He makes Ciro watchful rather than showily mysterious: the attention is on what he notices, what he chooses to say and how little reassurance he offers the person listening.
His scenes with Salvatore Esposito, who plays Genny, are central to the appeal of the series. Their changing relationship gives the larger criminal story a personal weight that survives its shifts in scale.
D'Amore has also worked behind the camera on Gomorrah and directed The Immortal, the companion film centred on Ciro. Outside that world, his acting credits include A Quiet Life, Perez. and Drive Me Home. That work extends beyond the one role, but Ciro is a particularly effective meeting of performer and material: a character whose silences can make the next decision feel more dangerous.
