About Jeffrey Wright

Jeffrey Wright plays Bernard Lowe, Westworld's head of programming, in Westworld. His measured delivery gives the technical conversations credibility, but the hesitation beneath it is often more interesting. Bernard can understand a problem without being comfortable with its implications.

Wright's screen career includes Basquiat, Angels in America, the role of Felix Leiter in the Daniel Craig Bond films, and American Fiction. On television, his Dr Valentin Narcisse in Boardwalk Empire uses elaborate courtesy very differently from Bernard's reserve. He also appears as Isaac in The Last of Us.

He is an actor who rewards attention to small changes in emphasis. Westworld gives him plenty of room for that, without requiring the viewer to know anything about Bernard beyond his place in the park's staff at the outset.
