Dominique McElligott

Dominique McElligott is an Irish actor known for Lily Bell in Hell on Wheels, Hannah Conway in House of Cards and Queen Maeve in The Boys.

Lily gives Hell on Wheels a character whose composure has to survive a very practical set of pressures. McElligott can stand opposite the camp's more expansive personalities without turning every exchange into a contest of volume. She makes Lily's resolve feel deliberate rather than effortless.

Her film credits include Moon, in which she played Tess Bell, and the Western Blackthorn, where she played Etta Place. She also appeared in The Guard and Not Fade Away.

On television, McElligott played Louise Shepard in The Astronaut Wives Club and Kathleen Moore in The Last Tycoon. Queen Maeve gives her a markedly different setting from Lily's railroad camp, with public expectations and private reactions often pulling in different directions.
