Vincent Kartheiser

About Vincent Kartheiser
Vincent Kartheiser plays Pete Campbell in Mad Men. Pete badly wants to be taken seriously and can make almost any attempt to secure that respect work against him. Kartheiser is very funny at the exact point where confidence turns into a grievance. He also leaves enough genuine hurt visible to keep Pete from becoming a simple office caricature.
Kartheiser worked in films including The Indian in the Cupboard, Alaska and Another Day in Paradise before playing Connor in Angel. Later film roles include In Time, My Friend Dahmer and Ultrasound.
On television, he portrays Samuel Greenwood in Das Boot and Pierre Ruskin in The OA, as well as William Bradford in Saints & Strangers. His stage work includes playing Mr Darcy in Pride and Prejudice at the Guthrie Theater.
Pete is the performance to start with here. Kartheiser understands that an ambitious man can be observant about everybody else's weaknesses and almost helpless when faced with his own. The result is frequently exasperating, often funny and much more interesting than an uncomplicated rival for Don.
