Matthew Goode

Matthew Goode plays Robert Evans in The Offer, and he is one of the series' main attractions. The voice, clothes and confidence are conspicuous, but Goode keeps a working studio executive underneath the performance of being Robert Evans.

His television work includes Finn Polmar in The Good Wife, Tony Armstrong-Jones in The Crown, and Matthew Clairmont in A Discovery of Witches. Film roles include Watchmen, A Single Man, Stoker and The Imitation Game.

Evans gives him unusually showy material. The pleasure is in how close he can come to caricature without losing the character's practical interest in the conversation. He makes an apparently casual remark feel like part of a negotiation.
