Kaley Cuoco

Kaley Cuoco gives Penny much of her comic force through reactions: a pause, a look, or the decision to let someone finish an explanation that is getting steadily less impressive. In The Big Bang Theory, she makes Penny a convincing friend to this group without losing the differences between them. Her scenes with Jim Parsons are particularly good at mixing irritation with affection.

Before Penny, Cuoco played Bridget Hennessy in 8 Simple Rules and Billie Jenkins in Charmed. She later starred as Cassie Bowden in The Flight Attendant, also serving as an executive producer. That role brought lead-actress Emmy nominations in 2021 and 2022 and gave her more room for anxious, darker comedy.

Her guest credits include Sasha in Prison Break and Heidi in Curb Your Enthusiasm. The common thread is her ability to make a character's frustration readable before the next line arrives.

She also made an uncredited voice appearance as the pool water in Young Sheldon, a small reunion with the wider Big Bang world.
