Felix Kramer

Felix Kramer plays Kurt Grimmer in Dogs of Berlin and Tronte Nielsen in Dark. He trained at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin. His film work includes Free Country, directed by Dogs of Berlin creator Christian Alvart, and Emily Atef's Someday We'll Tell Each Other Everything.

Grimmer is an excellent role for him. Kramer gives the detective an imposing, impatient presence, but the character is not simply a man who wins every exchange by being louder. There is often calculation behind the force, and uncertainty behind the calculation.

I find him compelling because he can suggest why other people might trust Grimmer again while making me doubt that they should. The charm and the irritation are close together. His private needs don't conveniently disappear when he starts doing police work.

Opposite Fahri Yardım, Kramer helps make the central partnership a genuine contest of personalities. Their scenes are a major strength of a series I rate very highly.
