Britt Lower

Britt Lower plays Helly R in Severance. Helly's impatience with Lumon's rules gives the office an immediate source of friction. Lower makes that resistance direct and believable, without needing to turn every exchange into a confrontation.

A Northwestern University graduate, she worked in improvisation as well as screen acting before Severance. Her earlier television roles include Liz Greenberg in the comedy Man Seeking Woman and Tanya Sitkowsky in Unforgettable. She has also appeared in High Maintenance and plays Lisa in the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia episode “The Gang Gets Romantic”.

That comedy background matters in Severance: Helly has to respond to the absurdity around her as if she is the only person prepared to acknowledge it. Lower can make a short answer funny without losing the character's frustration. Her performance sits comfortably alongside Adam Scott's more restrained Mark, giving their workplace scenes a useful contrast.
