Penelope Wilton

English actress born 3 June 1946 in Scarborough. A six-time Olivier nominee and 2015 winner, made a Dame in 2016. Known for Ever Decreasing Circles, Downton Abbey as Isobel Crawley, and supporting work in Shaun of the Dead. Plays widow Anne in a string of quiet graveside scenes in After Life.
