Matt Smith

Matt Smith plays Prince Daemon Targaryen in House of the Dragon. Daemon's confidence is part charm, part warning. Smith gives him a watchfulness that makes even a quiet scene feel as though he might upset it, and the role suits his ability to look amused without offering much reassurance.

Smith previously played the Eleventh Doctor in Doctor Who and Prince Philip in the first two seasons of The Crown. Those parts make an interesting contrast with Daemon: the restless intelligence remains, but its purpose changes considerably. His film work includes Last Night in Soho. In House of the Dragon, it is often his response to another person's authority that is most enjoyable to watch.
