American actor born in 1979, best known for leading ABC's Pushing Daisies, playing Joe MacMillan across four seasons of AMC's Halt and Catch Fire, and portraying Thranduil in The Hobbit trilogy. On Foundation he plays Brother Day, the imperially sneering adult clone of Emperor Cleon I, a performance widely rated as the show's best.
