About Johnny Galecki

Johnny Galecki is Leonard Hofstadter in The Big Bang Theory, the physicist trying to accommodate Sheldon while pursuing a less complicated life of his own. Galecki gives Leonard an appealing mixture of intelligence, insecurity and exasperation. Playing opposite Jim Parsons, he can get a laugh from the moment Leonard realises that another negotiation is unavoidable.

Galecki was already an experienced television actor before Leonard. His long-running role as David Healy in Roseanne brought him to a broad audience, and his films include National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Suicide Kings and Vanilla Sky. His Big Bang Theory performance earned an Emmy nomination in 2011.

He also appears as Scott in My Name Is Earl and plays a fictionalised version of himself in Entourage. On stage, he made his Broadway debut in The Little Dog Laughed.
