English actor born in London and raised in Yorkshire. Broke out as the villain Tommy Lee Royce in the BBC series Happy Valley and went on to lead ITV's Grantchester as Sidney Chambers. McMafia was his first major international lead role. Later credits include Nowhere Special and King and Conqueror.
