Ed Burns

American writer/producer and former Baltimore homicide detective who co-created The Wire. Burns spent 20 years in the police force and brought invaluable real-world experience to the show's writing. He previously collaborated with Simon on the book and miniseries The Corner. Burns' insight into crime and policing helped make The Wire one of the most realistic police dramas ever.
