Love, Death and Robots

Love, Death + Robots is a collection of animated short films rather than one continuing series. Science fiction, horror and dark comedy recur, but an episode can change the visual style and tone completely.

That variety is the main attraction. Animation can make an impossible setting feel tangible, then use a different technique to turn the next story into something closer to an illustration in motion. The short format allows an idea to arrive, make its impression and finish without supporting a whole season.

Quality varies, as it will in an anthology with so many approaches. Some entries are more impressive as images than as stories, while the best combine the two with real economy. A weaker short is not a long commitment before the next possibility.

This is adult animation, with some graphic violence and sexual material, not a collection intended for children. If the standalone speculative stories of Black Mirror appeal, this offers a more visually varied and often more compact route into similar what-if territory.
