Japanese actress born in Kumamoto, discovered through a TV audition as a teenager. Built a career on strong-willed roles in films like The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (2010 live-action) and the Time Traveller drama, she plays the Queen of Hearts, Mira Kano, in Alice in Borderland.
