Mario Puzo

American novelist and screenwriter, author of The Godfather (1969), whose screenwriting work with Francis Ford Coppola on The Godfather, The Godfather Part II and The Godfather Part III won him two Academy Awards. His late novels included The Last Don (1996), adapted for CBS in 1997.
