Lee Child

British novelist born Jim Grant in Coventry in 1954. Creator of the Jack Reacher series, which began with Killing Floor in 1997 and has since reached 28 novels translated into more than 40 languages. A former Granada Television presentation director, he turned to writing after being made redundant in 1995.
